International Online Reach   +   Professional Local Expertise

For Boat Sellers

Boatshed is exceptional in the comprehensive service it offers sellers – and in the successful sales that result.

  • Your boat will be visited in person by your local broker who will talk you through the process. The broker will advise you on the current market situation for your boat and its condition.
  • First impressions count, so your Boatshed broker will provide a complete multimedia portfolio for your boat – taking a great range of photographs and videos that show your boat in the best possible way, based on past sales success.
  • In addition, all technical aspects of the boat will be documented
  • Words and images will be brought together in an online website page, to be featured in the hugely popular and influential Boatshed site, viewed around the world.
  • Boatshed’s world-wide network of brokers will be updated with the details.
  • Boatshed will also place advertisements on leading ‘boats for sale’ websites, such as Apollo Duck and Waterways Boats.

Every visitor to the Boatshed website must register their details in order to see the full extent of your boat information. This means that each enquiry comes from people who have a real ‘feel’ for your boat and are serious in their interest; they are pre-qualified prospective buyers.

  • Your Boatshed broker accompanies all viewings in person, explaining and guiding on your behalf – and maximising the sales potential. Online ‘virtual’ viewings are also possible.
  • On average, Boatshed achieves a sale after less than two accompanied viewings.
  • Boatshed, through your local broker or via the Head Office team, handles the offer, negotiation and contract agreement process for you, working expertly to get you the best possible result.
  • Boatshed’s 20 years of past experience, wide network and range of support expertise is there to advise and back up the service.

    What Sellers Say

” . . I was not expecting to sell my boat so quickly and at a great price. The Boatshed broker was present at every stage of the process and took a close interest, keeping me fully informed. His knowledge, expertise and involvement brought about a speedy conclusion. “

” . . This is the second time I have used Boatshed to sell my boat. Though there are indeed other capable folk out there, the professionalism of their presentation of my boats on BoatShed Essex has been the key factor. Jayne from Boatshed Essex took a large number of specific photos around the boat. She and Chris also maintained contact with updates on interest. They also met prospective clients to view the boat, so convenient as I lived miles away. I believe the professionalism, personal involvement and commitment by BoatShed is well worth the commission. “

    Credentials

    Boatshed’s Professional Credentials

    Quality across the Boatshed network

Each office is a separate, legal entity with its own business and name, operating within its locality. As licensees of the Boatshed system, all offices have standard working practices, standard procedures and use standard agreements and contracts, so that each office maintains the highest levels of customer service and professionalism – concepts at the heart of Boatshed since it was formed by Neil and Mandy Chapman in 1999.

    Boat Sector Memberships

Boatshed HQ is a member of the British Marine Federation (BMF) and the Boat Retailers and Brokers Association (BRBA). These organisations produce codes of conduct and guidelines regarding business process and standards in relation to the sale of boats. Boatshed encourages all individual licensees to follow such guidelines and individual Boatshed businesses should maintain membership of an appropriate professional federation.

    IPA Independent Pre-Sale Assessment

Together with the Marine Inspection Association of surveyors and brokers, Boatshed has introduced Independent Pre-Sale Assessments to increase confidence and assist second-hand sail and motor boat sales. Boatshed boats can be inspected, assessed and reported upon by an experienced, independent, marine surveyor before they are listed. Up to 56 critical areas of a used boat are assessed by an expert surveyor. The IPA report appears alongside the boat’s advertised specification and is immediately available to any prospective buyer who views or requests information about the boat.
